Frog guide

Amphibians include frogs and toads, salamanders, and caecilians. Most amphibians have an aquatic, gill-bearing larval stage and an air-breathing adult stage where they may live partially or almost entirely on land. Learn more in our BC amphibians section.

Identifying amphibians in the Lower Mainland can be complex… is it native or invasive, a frog or toad? Luckily we have a section built to help you out.

If you suspect you have found an Oregon Spotted Frog, please take photographs of the frog from the top, side and of its underside. You may have found a new population! Fill out our form with photos and location information.
